At the heart of this experience is the Aircraft Ownership System. Pilots can own aircraft as personal assets, taking control of where they fly, how they operate and how they generate income. Ownership adds another dimension to every journey: you are building something of your own, with each flight contributing to its earning potential, condition and future.
Owned aircraft are persistent. They remain where you leave them and must be positioned correctly before their next flight. Planning therefore extends beyond choosing a departure and destination. Where you finish today determines where your aircraft can begin tomorrow, making positioning and forward planning part of the ownership experience.
Aircraft condition matters just as much as location. Hard landings, utilisation and operational decisions feed into maintenance requirements, downtime and cost. Damage ranges from minor wear to serious structural damage, with consequences that reflect how an aircraft is treated. An aircraft may need repairs, become unavailable for service or, in extreme cases, be permanently lost. Looking after your aircraft protects both your investment and your ability to keep flying.
Supporting this is a connected economy. Flights generate income based on airborne time, with increased earning potential for owned aircraft and multipliers for special events. Maintenance, damage and positioning introduce costs that give those earnings a purpose. Consistent flying and thoughtful management help you build your balance, while poor handling and costly decisions can set you back.
Ownership remains a choice. Pilots who want unrestricted flying can use non-owned aircraft to fly any aircraft, on any route, at any time, without ownership restrictions. When flying an owned aircraft, its location, condition and operational limits apply. You decide when to enjoy the freedom of a casual flight and when to engage with the deeper challenge of managing a persistent asset.
Beyond the systems, ZAG is a community connected by a shared enthusiasm for aviation. Our custom liveries, FSHub flight tracking, Crew Portal and Discord bring pilots together, whether they prefer short regional sectors or long-haul journeys. VATSIM participation is optional; those representing Zenyx on the network use the prefix ZAG and spoken callsign REDLINE.
